When I dreamt of the Azores, I imagined the raw beauty of Flores - a rainforest-like haven of green, windswept landscapes. While each of the nine islands is unique, Flores holds a special place in my heart. Its remote location, practically on the North American plate, makes it feel like a world apart.
Getting there (and returning from) is an adventure in itself! ✈️
My flight was cancelled SEVEN times! 😅 But the reward is a truly unforgettable experience.
Flores is raw, untamed beauty – probably one of the last true adventures in Europe.
